Meditation and asking questionsOften we keep searching outside of ourselves for the answers when they are really hidden within.

We’re so used to looking outside ourselves that we may not notice our own wisdom.

Through the process of life we’ve been learning and growing, gathering information and knowledge.

And knowledge is power.

Think of all that you’ve experienced…think of all you’ve overcome….think of all that you’ve learned….think of all your capabilities, skills and talents. You have a vast resource of knowledge and wisdom within you -it’s just that we don’t often take the time to look.

We are so accustomed to looking outside ourselves for wisdom and knowledge.

This begins with the school system. As kids, we learned to be students: to be quiet and listen and to repeat what the teacher said.

The teacher was the source of knowledge and our job was to be quiet and take it in.

And we’ve had many years of this, listening to others, listening to experts (which has value – don’t get me wrong) but in the process, we may have tuned out our own inner voice.

Your inner wisdom is just waiting for you to tap into it.

And it’s really simple to do by using the magic of questions.

Whenever you ask a question, your mind will go find at least one answer.

And quite often if you keep asking the question, you’ll find layers of answers. Is there something you’ve been wondering about? Something you would like more insight about?

Take 5-10 minutes and sit quietly and ask yourself some questions. Use a pen and paper to record your answers. Take the time to listen to yourself.

Note: Beware of ‘why’ questions. Why did this happen is not so useful until you have changed the critical voices (and NLP can help with that). If you’re getting negative answers its an indicator you need to dump your mental baggage.

My challenge for you this week: Take 10 quiet minutes every day to sit, ask yourself questions and listen to your own wisdom Here’s some useful questions to start with:

  • How can I….
  • What will it take to…..
  • Who will I be as I’ve overcome….
  • What’s important right now….
  • Who can help me with the next step…

Asking yourself questions  and listening to your answers is a powerful daily practice that can spur you forward in all areas of your life.

This is one of the many empowering strategies I teach in my Mind Mastery System  next training is scheduled for Sat. July 18, 9 – 5 pm. Check it out Mind Mastery System
