Use this quick mind reset to keep your focus at home and work for better work-life balance

Do you ever feel your mind obsessing with work when you’re home, and obsessing with home when at work?

Keeping your focus at work is a matter of being fully present. When I train new NLP Practitioners and Hypnotherapists, deeply listening and being fully present are essential to really hearing beyond the words we say and creating the therapeutic connection with the client.

How does it feel when someone is fully present with you?

Have you had a family member or friend put aside their phone and really listen? Next time you  go to a restaurant, look at how many people are on their phones versus really connecting with the people they are with. With the advent of technology encroaching into our social time, now more than ever, we need a return to presence and being.  Your relationships feel your focus.
Do you find yourself thinking of work when you are at home? Or even when you are on vacation? Do you find yourself worrying about home life when you’re at work?

Use this easy way to clear your mind and reset your mind to be fully present.

This quick mind reset for focus strategy I cover with new trainees, but its amazing what it can do for your presence and well being with your relationships.

Imagine a light much like the the light of the sun washing through you, let it flow down through your face, your neck, your shoulders, your back, letting it pour through your arms, and as the light moves through your body, let it soak into your muscles, your tissues, letting it wash away the difficulties of life, down through to your legs.
And pouring through your legs, to your knees, washing through your knees to your shins, your calves, down through your ankles, through your ankles to the bottoms of your feet. And now its as if the bottoms of your feet are like the drains on a shower, letting the lightness wash from the top of your head to the bottoms of your feet, through your feet into the ground to be recycled.
Discover how to empower yourself and others with NLPAnd now you can also feel that light as it soaks into your muscles and tissues, even as if its lighting up the core of who you are within an inner brightness that is you.
And letting the light expand out around you in a bubble of light, filling up the space around you, (letting the bubble include the people, your home or your work station).
For those of you who have been in my chair, you might recognize this beginning as the relaxation sequence before Hypnosis. It clears your mind, helps you let go of the stressors and worries that our mind spins, and brings your awareness to your  body and the moment – feeling renewed and refreshed with yourself and your energy, all the way back into your body.

You can also add an intention, such as, I’m going to accomplish x today, or when you come home at night, I’m going to relax and enjoy home.

Try it, the first thing you wake up in the morning, or when you get to your work, or at the end of your day as you come home. It allows your mind to clear, boosts your mood and helps you keep your focus.
